“Becoming a student ambassador has helped me greatly with my confidence and has helped me meet lots of amazing people that I might not have otherwise! I'd highly recommend becoming a student ambassador if you can!”

Emyr Owen

Emyr Owen, 3rd year Computer Science

“I started as a Student Ambassador at the end of my first year at Glyndŵr and I’ve enjoyed the experience ever since. Since becoming a Student Ambassador, I have taken part in many different jobs, including many Open Days, some Open Evenings and I’ve enjoyed every experience all the time. The role has helped me make new friends and to improve my personal skills - such as working as a team, and communication skills - which also boosts my CV. The role has also helped me financially, which is a great help, especially whilst I’m studying, and the hours are very flexible and works around my studies. Being a Student Ambassador is a lot of fun, and I highly recommend the job to anyone.”

Lizz Morley

Lizz Morley, BA Social and Cultural History

“I became a student ambassador in my first year. The opportunities this has given me are amazing. I have travelled around Britain promoting the University, meeting good people from different universities along the way. I work open days which I love as I get to meet nervous people, who leave feeling hopeful and full of ambition. The student life talks have been the best experience so far, inspiring teenagers who did not enjoy school. I have grown in confidence with this role and I now feel comfortable talking in front of people. This will help in my future career. “

Emma Tattum

Emma Tattum, Broadcasting, Journalism and Media Communications graduate

“Working as a #WGUInsider increased my confidence and gave me a platform to use the skills I learnt throughout my degree.

“Being a student means you can sometimes isolate yourself from the outside of your course. Working as an insider meant I attended some events and met new people. Networking was one of the best aspects of it.”
